The Folk Marathon continues

Day three and Roger Wilson couldn't come to the session. A shame because we were enjoying tapping in to his vast memorised library of tunes. But, it meant that we got to teach some tunes to the group and we even listened to a couple of Lau tracks and came up with new arrangements for Salty Boys and Throwing Pennies.

We had a little bit of trouble with the singer wanting to change the keys of some of the songs we are doing. It can be really difficult to translate something to a different sometimes especially if it messes up the chord voicings that you've worked out. We were a bit sneaky though as with Throwing pennies we developed a harmony section that involved a fiddle playing the bit that was too high! It works really nicely.

Last day today, hope to learn a few more tunes, and then we'll have a session in the Admiral Hardy at about 8 I think if you feel like coming along. Bring an instrument.
